A Seed From The Southeast : Biography Bon Setitit
This book describes the biography of the journey of the nation's children, known as Bon Setitit, from the backward, outermost and underdeveloped areas, namely the Kei Islands, Southeast Maluku in the Dutch colonial era in the early 20th century.
In short, his late father at the young age of about 12 years had left his own homeland and was living independently without depending on anyone. Until the age of 22, he completed civil service education in Makassar which was finally accepted by the Dutch East Indies government as an administration at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Then they were placed in a more remote and outermost place, namely in Agats, Merauke Papua, where at that time not many people were willing to work there because of the many malaria attacks in that area.
After working for approximately 3.5 years, my father was finally assigned to continue his studies and was sent to Brisbane – Australia to deepen his knowledge. My father graduated in 1945 and finally before returning to Merauke, my father took the time to stop by his homeland.
Upon his return to Merauke he was assigned to Timor - Kupang as a Junior Controller and for several years there he received a letter of promotion as a Controller and was placed in Saumlaki whose territory includes his homeland of the Kei Islands in 1947.
In the midst of his position as a controller (equivalent to a regent), my father bravely raised the red and white flag in his office yard and also with my comrades in arms sent a motion on behalf of the Kei people, which essentially said that the recognition of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and the Southern Moluccas which was independent from the Dutch-made South Moluccas at that time.
In 1948 to 1952, my father finished his studies at the University of Leiden with a major in Indologie-Economie, after going through ratification at the Universiteit Van Indonesie in Batavia and obtaining the HBS-A equivalence, before continuing his doctoral studies.
Worked at the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Sections, Subsections and Sections of the Autonomous and Decentralized Section of the Ministry of Home Affairs, from 1952 - 1954
